I decided to switchįrom USB to a DVD and tried booting from the latter. And the "Operating system not found" error shows up again, instead of Windows installation. Problems struck me again, having inserted the USB I booted the system. Now that I'm perfectly clear on how to go about, I repeated the procedure. In order to delete the installation files, I formatted the HDD again. Due to this mistake, the system went back to installation page as it bootedįrom USB. BUT when the system was restarting automatically, I unfortunately forgot to remove the pen drive. I was guided to the installation windows and successfully finished the operation. Next I insert the HDD back to my system, then connected a pen drive and ensured that BOOT priority is set to 1. While I had windows 8.1 ISO extracted into a USB pen drive and DVD drive. And I figured out that my internal HDD was corrupt, so I detached it from my system and connected to an alternate laptop via SATA-USB converter and formatted the I was not able to select any partitions to install the OS. While this is something I've resolved in the past by extracting Windows 8.1 image file into USBĭrive and rebooting the system from it, followed by installation of windows.īut now the problem got compounded. System crashed all of a sudden and an error "Operating system not found" showed up on the screen. I'm facing terrible issues in my Sony Vaio E series laptop.
